Born in Penticton and raised across the traditional territories of the Okanagan Valley, Uncle Moo carries a deep, lived understanding of the land that transcends modern borders. As the youngest of nine in a traditional family, he grew up with English as his second language, a foundation that fueled his life’s work in the preservation and revival of the Okanagan language and culture.

Uncle Moo is a tireless advocate for Indigenous-led education, working outside mainstream institutions to develop curriculum for school districts and bands across both Canada and the USA.
Beyond his work in linguistics, he serves as a vital "witness" to the ceremonies and celebrations of the Plateau, Plains, and Coastal tribes. To Uncle Moo, understanding the personal and traditional history of our people isn’t just an introduction—it is the essential foundation for all Native Studies and Research.
